Philip Patrick (From Writer to Reader: An Introduction to Book Publishing ) is Vice President for Digital and Marketing Strategy and Publisher of Crown Digital Media at Random House. He has worked on hundreds of bestsellers from a diverse list of authors including President Barack Obama, Martha Stewart, and Deepak Chopra, and is the English-language publisher of the bestselling I am Nujood by Nujood Ali. He has worked as a marketer, sales person, editor, and publisher on nearly every format of book – print, audio, and electronic – in a vast array of genres from fiction and non-fiction to cooking, self-help, spirituality, education, craft, design, business, and finance. Previously, he served as Vice President and Publisher at Three Rivers Press, and as Vice President and Director of Marketing for Crown Publishing, also at Random House, as well as having worked in a bookstore, written for the Boston Globe and American Bookseller among others, and received executive training at INSEAD, one of the world’s leading graduate business schools, and Harvard Business School.
