Calling all Reading Clubs!

The organisers of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair are pleased to invite you to join our Friends of the Fair program, created to reward book club members and committed readers in the UAE for loving books as much as we do.

If you are already part of a book club or you are interested in starting one, we are happy to help you organise meetings, obtain copies of books, attract members, and publicise your activities to the public – whatever we can do to make life a little easier for you. If you’ve always wanted to join a book club but don’t know where to start, we can help you with that too.

Members will receive the following benefits:

• Help in obtaining copies of books in a timely fashion and at an affordable price through KITAB’s partnership with Jashanmal Bookstores*
• Preferential access to guest authors at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair
• Access to a database of active English and Arabic book clubs in the UAE, so that you can partner with other groups for intercultural dialogues, co-hosting of authors, to share reading lists, etc.
• Help in contacting authors to invite them for meetings
• Suggested reading lists provided by KITAB of local and international bestsellers, prize-winning literature from the Arab World and literature relevant to the region
• Administrative assistance with organising meetings and recruiting membership

*By presenting your Friends of the Fair membership card at the Jashanmal locations in Abu Dhabi Mall (Abu Dhabi), Mall of the Emirates (Dubai), or Sahara Centre (Sharjah), you will receive a 20% discount on books when purchasing at least 10 copies of a single title. This applies when buying directly from the store AND when requesting books through Jashanmal’s ordering service (requires 2-3 weeks). Jashanmal is also willing to absorb unclaimed books into their stocks so that you will not be penalized for ordering more copies than your group needs. Now doesn’t that sound like a good deal?
